The latest release from the breezily swinging UK folk treasures The National to Sharon Van Etten! Born in Winchester, England, but now based in Paris, singer/songwriter Kate Stables' project, Dis is the Kit, has released "Off Off On," the follow-up to their previous album, "Moonshine Freeze," which has been called one of the best albums of 2017. This is the second album from the talented artist, whose talents were discovered by The National's brothers Aaron and Bryce Dessner and who has been praised by Sharon Van Etten and Elbow's Guy Garvey, and is produced by Josh Kaufman, who also works as Bonnie Raitt Horseman and Maz. The album's production was inspired by his participation in the production and touring of The National's album "I Am Easy To Find" (2019).The album retains the simple, warm folk sound and Stables' soft voice of the past, including "This is What YouDid," which was released earlier in the year, and includes 11 songs that radiate a rich light and are full of life, keenly sensitive to the pulse and flow of life. It is a masterpiece of "on" contemporary folk that moves against the tide, stands against the storm, and makes you feel like a lifeline.
