Description:
Jacinto Garcia was born in Havana and immigrated to the United States in 1961. He studied composition and music theory at the University of Miami under Morton Feldman. All of his compositions are in the style of his mentor Feldman, with slow movements, gentle kaleidoscopic sounds, and gradually shifting motifs. The album contains four works inspired by "natural phenomena," three of which were written in the form of concertos with solo instruments. All the pieces are conducted by the composer himself, Jacinto Garcia, who interacts with the soloists to fully express the subtlety of the music.
