Keane
Description:
In 2012, Keane regrettably went on an "indefinite hiatus. They are back with a new album, which is the result of their reunion for the first time in about 7 years! The world is excited by the miraculous resumption of the activities of Keane, who have regularly performed in the top 10 of the U.S. charts as well as in their home country of the U.K. and Europe. Keane formed the band with childhood friends when they were students, and have been together for about 20 years. They have sold 13 million albums worldwide, released four studio albums, an EP, and the best-of album "The Best of Keane," won two Brit Awards, an Ivar Novello Award, and released their debut album Hopes and Fears" was named one of the Top 40 Best Selling Albums in British history. He has toured 30 countries, from Rio de Janeiro to Taipei, and performed at venues ranging from Wembley Stadium to Saturday Night Live. But Tom Chaplin wanted to write his own songs and record a solo album. To do so, he took a break from his work in Keane, where Tim Rice-Oxley is the main songwriter and lyricist.Tom says, "I'm not going to let Keane get in the way like he did before," he says. He got married and became a father. And one day he was asking himself, thinking about Keane, and Tim. He explains, "I began to wonder why I had let go of such a strange and important relationship. So he contacted Tim and scheduled a meeting. On the reunion, Tim reveals that he has recorded a collection of new songs for his solo album. Tom, then Richard and Jesse listened, and they were immediately drawn to the collection of new songs, both song-wise and lyrically. This process reunited the band members, and all four were excited to be able to do something meaningful and new together. After several months of immersion, it was time for Keane to release a new studio album, Cause & Effect. Eleven songs recorded in London and Sussex will be released on Island Records before embarking on a UK tour in September, playing festivals this summer for the first time since 2013, including Isle of Wight, British Summer Time with Robbie Williams, Cornbury, and Glastonbury. We realized that we weren't just regrouping," says drummer Richard Hughes. It's not like a band that broke up 20 years ago is reuniting for one last tour, or for money - it's not like a tradition carrying on," says Tim. We have a lot of creative songs in there.
