Description:

Two previously unreleased live performances of early Pink Floyd in 1967! Whistler of the Dawn... Syd Barrett, the genius, the last glimmer of fire. The flower of madness bloomed in Swingin' London, from UK Psychedelic to Progressive. Syd Barrett showed his natural talent without regret in 1967. Their debut album, "Whistlers at Dawn," reached No. 6 in the UK, and their progressive nature began to attract attention. They performed live energetically. However, Sid's excessive drug intake made it difficult for him to perform on stage at the end of 1967, and he was forced to leave the band the following year. Therefore, there are only a few live recordings of Sid's tenure in the band. From these few live recordings, we have recorded two live performances at the Star Club in Denmark on September 13, 1967, where "Arnold Lane" and "Astronomy Domine" were also performed. The opening song "Reaction In G," which begins with Sid's distorted guitar, is a two-chord free-jam style, a rare song that was often played as an opener during this period. Overall, Sid's spacy guitar, the core of the band's sound, is in great form, and Roger Waters on bass, Rick Wright on keyboards, and Nick Mason on drums also play with intensity. Roger's vocals on the unreleased song "One In A Million," and Rick and Nick's vocals on "Matilda Mother" and "Scream Thy Last Scream" also convey Pink Floyd's uniqueness unique to this period. November 13, 1967, Jimi Hendrix and others appeared on this album. The live performance at the "Hippie Happy Fair" in Holland is a rare show where you can hear "Pow R Toc H" with its impressive intro and "Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun," which had already been made for the next album. Interstellar Overdrive" is a long song that was an essential part of the band's early shows. The song begins with a guitar and bass unison riff, a more advanced approach from the studio take. Here, however, Syd's guitar is more subdued than on Star Club. It is my imagination, but it seems that Syd in this Holland is already different from the previous Syd. Between destructive impulse and silence, Syd's passion was shaking like a candlelight, or maybe he was trying to compensate for it. The master of these two venues is not so good, as Syd's vocals are very low due to the acoustics of the venues at the time, but each instrumental part is clearly captured. This is a historical live recording that captures the process of forming Pink Floyd's unique musicality that appealed to the sixth sense as a variant of British rock. This is the first release from Eternal Grooves' "ROCK OFF" series.
