A tall hand-carved wooden mortar from India, originally used for grinding spices and grains in daily kitchen preparation. Carved from a single block of wood, it carries the marks of age: softened edges, natural wear, and a deepened patina that only comes from years of handling.

Today, it works beautifully as a sculptural object. Place it on a kitchen island, open shelving, or a console as a grounding piece. It also works well styled with dried branches or simply left empty to show its form and texture.
