Ensure your gang box includes a neutral wire before installing the ZEN51 relay, as it is required for proper operation. If a neutral isn’t available at the switch, the relay can be installed directly at the light fixture. Follow the wiring diagram carefully—line and load wires must never be swapped. To add the relay to your Z-Wave network, bring your hub within range, put it into pairing mode, and press the relay’s Z-Wave button three times quickly. Once paired, the relay will appear as an on/off switch on your hub.

The ZEN51 relay can be customised to suit your automation needs. Select the appropriate wall switch type, enable power-failure recovery, or activate Smart Bulb Mode to keep smart bulbs powered while still triggering Z-Wave actions. For enhanced automation, switch to a momentary setup to enable scene control—for example, double-tap to trigger a preset lighting scene or single-tap for your favourite routine—without changing your existing habits.

Designed to fit discreetly behind standard UK/EU wall switches, the ZEN51 supports single pole and 3-way wiring. It can control LED or incandescent lights up to 150 W/960 W, resistive loads up to 10 A, or dry contact devices such as garage doors or pumps. If a neutral is not present at the switch, simply install the relay at the fixture. Its compact form and pigtail wires make installation simple, and included wiring diagrams plus SmartStart pairing ensure secure and hassle-free setup.
