The Ligne Roset Oxydation Coffee Table, designed by Kateryna Sokolova, is a study in how natural chemical processes can create unique, architectural forms. Drawing inspiration from contemporary sculpture, the table is crafted from steel or brass that has undergone a controlled oxidation process using acid treatments. This technique results in a complicated, textured surface where the metal displays unexpected patterns and colour variations, making every single table naturally unique.

The design features a substantial, circular top and a solid base, both finished with a transparent varnish to protect the metal and lock in the specific oxidation at that moment. By combining traditional metalworking with advanced chemical treatments, the table manages to look like a solid piece of stone or aged metal while maintaining a clean, modern silhouette. At 38cm tall with a 70cm diameter, it sits at a practical height for use as a central living room piece.
