Bruno Hellstroffer
Description:
Bruno Herstloffer, a young German theorbo player, is known for his free and open playing of both pre-17th century and contemporary music. This album, which he himself calls his "logbook," is a collection of his own compositions and pieces written in various periods, inspired by his impressions from his travels over thousands of kilometers from Europe to the United States, and strongly stimulates the listener's imagination. One can hear contemporary rural and urban landscapes, songs of 16th century Italians, Satie's "Gnosienne" that suddenly blend together, and even a piece that envisions India. Works created through Herstloffer's sensibility are also worth listening to. Naxos Japan
