Pink Floyd, one of the top bands not only in the progressive rock scene but also in the British rock scene, released their debut album in 1967, and since then they have continued to create unique albums with their original sound ideas and concepts. The band influenced many rock bands, and their 1973 release "Madness" was a worldwide hit, spending 741 weeks on the U.S. album charts and selling over 50 million copies. However, after the release of their 12th album "Final Cut" in 1983, Pink Floyd did not tour and the band went on hiatus. The band goes on hiatus, and each member begins work on a solo album. David Gilmour produces his second solo album, "Profile of Madness (About Face)", and tours Europe and North America for 74 shows on the , starting with a concert in Newcastle, England on March 30 of the same year.The April 30 London performance was recorded for a TV/video production, broadcast on MTV and sold by CBS (now out of print). With the discovery of the broadcast audio masters, this release has been remastered to the best of the current state of the art. The set list of the day included two encores, for a total of 16 songs, and this CD contains 9 songs selected for broadcast. The highlights of this CD are "Short and Sweet," a song from the first album featuring David Gilmour's close friend Roy Harper, and "Comfortably Numb," featuring Nick Mason of Pink Floyd, although the song is from the just-released album. The concert was recorded live in its entirety. This is not a live album that includes the complete concert, but it is a valuable archive of David Gilmour during this period!
