Performed by Kazue Nakamura, the composer's most trusted pianist, who was entrusted with the premiere performance. Based on the pitch-interval technique, one of Yoriko Matsudaira's representative compositional techniques, the 24 letters of the alphabet from A to Z are used as the initial letters of the titles of the pieces, and the extremes of pianism are captured from various angles in each 2 to 3-minute piece. The world of Matsudaira's works, condensed in this collection of pieces that challenge the limits of human performance, is as magnificent as it is incisive.
