What a wonderful, visual piece of revival ephemera. John Elias [1774-1841]. He was perhaps "the" Welsh Revivalist of the 19th century. He drew crowds exceeding 10,000 in number and was said to have preached "as if talking fire down from Heaven." When he died, many said the greatest preacher in all of Wales, perhaps the world, had gone on to his glory.

The present is a large format, rolling scroll full color lithograph of John Elias preaching appended to a an 1892 calendar at the bottom by Hugh Davies, Grocer. Titled, "John Elias Preaching at the Association." 

Measures c.16 x 30 inches. Some wear, slight creases. Superb and very, very rare.
