Even Mumbai acid house pioneer Charanjit Singh gets a moment's hearing, his wiry electronics serving as usher to Usha Khanna's hotel-scene cues, while Chic Chocolate's brass swagger and Laxmikant-Pyarelal's oddball 'Soul Of Bob' pre-hark a slew of leftfield cover versions. First out as part of the label's ongoing excavation of Indian soundtrack history, this instalment comes with liner notes and a crate of instrumental curiosities plotting three decades of Hindi film craft.
