An exceptionally rare group of reports of the major northern passage railroad companies published at the height of the Westward Expansion and development of the Transcontinental Railroad and the railcar version of the Oregon Trail. 

Includes extensive content related to Native Americans, exploration of the Mississippi River and the Missouri River, etc,. including a very finely executed group of early lithographs.

Significantly, included is a very rare variant six panel map of the explorations of Lewis and Clark, printed by E C. Kellogg. It appears to have been printed to purpose for this publication and we trace no other examples either retained in another example of this report, or sold separately.
