An Aroner fly rod, 6', 3-piece, 2-tip, built for a #3 line. Mint, unfished condition. 2.7 ounces. Extra fast dry fly action that will throw a super tight loop. The cane is flamed with small pressed nodes done in a three up pattern. The tips are mirrored and super fine at .046" and tiny #2 1/2 tip-tops. The stripping guide is a circle snake guide similar to the Leonard Catskill. The snake guides are black HSS. The main wraps are "may rose" which turn a dark garnet color on the flamed blank. The varnish is flawless. The ferrules are truncated swiss with a collar and knurl. The oxidation is 100%. The grip is a delicate 4 1/4" medium cigar. The cap and ring seat is a mortised curly walnut with a varnish coat to match the rod shafts. The cap and ring are oxidized with a fine Payne-style knurl. No roller die stamp as this rod dates to the late 1980's. The rod is fitted with brass ferrule plugs, a light olive bag and polished aluminum tube with brass fittings. A great model for delightful small stream dry fly fishing.
