A very rare and handsomely preserved first edition of the Spurgeon's history of The Metropolitan Tabernacle, tracing its roots to the early Baptist movements, through John Gill, etc., Illustrated throughout, and still retaining it's lithographed front board onlay of the Tabernacle, which is often lacking or badly rubbed.
Desirable in any state and quite rare in this condition.

A good + copy, bound in cloth, and very attractive, if a bit handled. The front interior hinge is through at the end papers, but solid. Text is generally solid, with light toning.
