For sale here is a 1920's vintage 4" caged spool fly reel made by WH Dingley. Made for and retailed by JA Walker Alnwick. This highly sought after brass pin caged reel has a very nice and strong adjustable caliper check (and very loud!). Stamped D9. Correct original and un-filed smooth brass foot. Original ivorine handle spins freely. Very tight reel. No spool wobble. As with most leaded Dingleys, the majority of the original leading remains on the reel. Spool width is 1.20". Weight of the reel is 13 oz. The reel foot is 3 3/8" in length. A very fine Dingley!
