Castello di Neive has been making wine in the village of Neive since 1964, when the Stupino family took ownership of some of Barbaresco's most prized vineyard sites alongside the famous 18th-century castle, in whose cellars Louis Oudart vinified the first dry red Nebbiolo wines in the 1850s. Their Santo Stefano cru is one of Barbaresco's greatest vineyards - a name that appears on bottles collected and cellared by serious Piedmont lovers the world over.
Third generation Carolina Stupino and winemaker Marco Bottiroli joined us to taste across across the Castle's range - but with a focus on the patrician, age-worthy Barbaresco that has made the estate's reputation.
