Richard Kershaw MW started this label in 2012, with a focus on Chardonnay and the Elgin region. Vinified with minimal intervention and made from a selection of Chardonnay clones from Burgundy, this is aged in roughly 50% new oak and has become a standard-bearer for the variety in the cape.

"The 2021 Chardonnay Clonal Selection Elgin is simply one of the best South African articulations of this grape variety that you will find. The nose is just perfectly controlled, quite Burgundian in style. It plays with a very subtle reduction, underneath which lies Golden Delicious, hints of beeswax and crushed stone. The palate has exquisite balance and depth, with notes of orange pith and grapefruit that dovetail into a slightly richer, creamier-textured finish, maintaining the salinity that makes you beg for more.
