Ex-museum, baculites compressus fossil for sale!
Baculites are an extinct genus of cephalopod in the order of ammonites, known for their straight structure (vs the nautilus-style curvature traditional of ammonites).
Despite dating back 66-100.5 million years, half of this ancient shell still retains some shimmering nacre (mother of pearl). As you turn the fossil, you will see some beautiful iridescence!
Measuring ~4" long, this would make a great addition to any collection.
It was originally found in Saskatchewan, Canada and spent decades on display at the old Hobberlin Museum in Ontario, Canada.
