A delightful antique signet ring, dated to 1919 and rich in charm and symbolism.

Created in 9 carat gold, the ring features a larger signet form with a beautifully engraved sardonyx panel at its centre. The intaglio depicts a finely detailed squirrel, full of life and movement, accompanied to one side by a laurel wreath. The wreath being a traditional emblem of victory and honour.

Adding further charm, the shoulders of the ring are decorated with two graduating hearts motifs, subtly integrated into the band. These sweet details lend a sense of sentiment to the piece, balancing the heraldic elements with something more personal.

Elegant and full of personality, this is a wonderful example of early 20th century signet design. Where symbolism, craftsmanship of the era and individuality come together.

Condition: This is overall fair antique condition, there is a subtle hairline crack across the middle of the stone which has been stabilised - however we would say were this, as with all antique jewellery - with care. There is a historical sizing at the back of the band
