A superb little William Mills & Sons "Fairy" trout reel. 2 1/2" in diameter this is the small lightweight reel that Mills had made to balance their one and one-quarter ounce light line bamboo rods. This is the circa 1950 model with the raised pillar side plates, nickel silver foot and the slightly dished aluminum spool that turns with a soft clicking sound. It has the half-handle with the center screw as does the grease cap on the rear plate which helps dates this model. There are no dents, scratches or chips in the hard rubber and the foot is as factory. These reels are very hard to find in this condition.
