A nice Dingley 3 1/2" fly reel made for retailer Alex Martin. Set up for RHW. Excellent patina and the frame and sideplate are in great condition. "Thistle" stamped on the winding plate along with "Alex Martin / Glasgow, Edinburgh, Aberdeen". Ventilated plate on the other side. No major scratches or issues anywhere. Nice coin-edge knurl in the inside edge of the crank side of the frame. Brass lineguard. Brass foot that has been lightly filed on the sides but not shortened. Nice dual check design and the spring and pawl look good. The tension adjuster works well throughout the drag range. "4" stamped inside. Nice tight spool. Some black dacron backing is loaded on the reel. A good little example of Dingley design here in a versatile size.
