Our standard mouthpiece cups measure .650" (16.5mm) in diameter at the joint where the cup and rim meet and have .750-36 threads, making them compatible with almost all American-made screw rim mouthpieces. They are available in a wide variety of contours and with throats in even drill sizes from 8 (largest) to 18 (smallest). All other sizes are available as special orders.

Our Models (listed from shallow to deep)

H (Haydn) Our shallowest cup, it’s designed to facilitate work in the upper tessitura of the instrument. H16 is the original  Haydn mouthpiece.

B (Bloom) Relatively shallow with a moderate cup shape that supports the upper register and produces a brilliant tone. Works well on 8D’s in larger throat sizes.

G (Geyer) Copy of a Carl Geyer original. It shares the essential characteristics of the Chicago cup in a shallower form.

L (London) The contour is a pronounced concave-to-convex curve. This configuration produces the vibrant tone associated with the great British virtuosi.

N (Navarro) Designed for Paul Navarro of the Chicago Lyric Opera. It combines characteristics of both London and Chicago cups.

CH (Chicago) The quintessential American mouthpiece. Modeled after the original Farkas model. Moderately deep with fairly straight sides, it produces an even timbre with complex overtones.

LD (London Deep) A bit deeper than the London cup. The increased volume enhances the low register.

CHD (Chicago Deep) A deeper version of our Chicago cup, but still with a very softly contoured wall. It’s very fluid and even in timbre.

V (Vienna) Very Deep, but with a relatively small volume due to its convex shape. Produces a dark, velvety sound that brightens when pushed.

Standard cups have Giardinelli-compatible 750-36 threads and measure .650" at the joint. They fit our standard rims and rims from most American makers.

All depths are measured to a number 12 throat.

Measurements include the rim height.

The number on the cup is the bore size.
