Preparation & Application

Substrate Preparation

The substrate must be sound, clean and free from all loose particles, dust, oil and other substances with a separating effect. Organically bound existing coatings must be completely removed. As a rule, the substrate should be roughened by blasting. It should be slightly pre-wetted as required; but the substrate must never be saturated with water.

Application Conditions

Ambient and substrate temperature during application and drying from ≥ 5 °C to ≤ 30 °C. Do not apply in direct sunlight or on sun-heated substrates. Protect surfaces from direct sun, wind and rain during and after application.

Preparation of Material 

Mixing ratio at approx. 20°C: As a shrinkage slurry: 25 kg dry filler KEIM Concretal-Feinspachtel 4.50 l water 1,5 l KEIM Concretal-Fine-Filler-Dilution KEIM Concretal-Fine-Filler-Dilution is first added to the mixing water and mixed thoroughly, followed by mixing of the filler. As fine plasters or scratch coats: Here, 1 l of mixing water (based on the amount of water required for 25 kg of filler) is replaced by adding KEIM ConcretalFine-Filler-Dilution: 25 kg KEIM Concretal fine filler, 3.50 l water, 1 l KEIM Concretal-Fine-Filler-Dilution

Application

The application as a blowhole slurry is carried out with a brush. Depending on the substrate and temperature conditions, it is recommended that trial areas be prepared. In case of full-surface filling or scratch filling of difficult substrates with KEIM
