A very rare pocket-sized hymnal edited, with introduction and contributions, by Henry Ward Beecher as a result of the "general feeling which now prevails throughout this whole nation," and the prayer revivals that had spread from Fulton Street in New York, to Beecher's at Boston, Philadelphia, and from there to the rest of the country. 

A fascinating little introduction on revivals by Beecher. We have never seen another example and it appears never to have been reprinted.
