A very smartly preserved edition of the Parker Society's excellent collection of Bishop Ridley's works of the early English Reformation.
Nicholas Ridley (c. 1500-1555) was a pivotal English bishop and leading figure in the English Reformation, who promoted Reformation / Anti-Catholic theology. He authored key liturgical texts like the Book of Common Prayer, and becoming a martyr for his faith, burned at the stake under Queen Mary I alongside Hugh Latimer and Thomas Cranmer.
