Very rare self-published volume of sermons, with no other copies on the market, by A. G. Garr.
Garr had come into the Burning Bush holiness movement with Martin Wells Knapp and moved to Chicago [c.1903]. After pastoring several successful Burning Bush churches, in 1906, the denominational leadership asked them to move to Los Angeles to lead a group there. He visited the Azusa Street Mission right at the beginning of the revival. He and his wife Lilian were among the first to receive Spirit Baptism and speak in tongues. They closed the church they had come to pastor, joined it with the Azusa Street Mission, and worked alongside William Seymour.
Shortly thereafter, A. G. Garr believed the Spirit gave him the ability to speak Bengali. He and Lilian hopped on a boat and became missionaries first to India, then Hong Kong, etc., After some years of foreign service, he returned to the United States in an effort to revive the flagging Pentecostal revival.
