This necklace is inspired by the legends of the Moon and the Hare. It is made using tiny cute "Tibetan Silver" (lead free Pewter) Hares and Black Lip Oyster Shell "Full Moons" all wrapped together using silver plated wire, chain and clasp. The clasp has a decorative "Moons" front fastening toggle style clasp. Delicate and subtle enough for every day wear.

Pinctada margaritifera is commonly known as the Black-Lip Oyster, is a species of salt water pearl producing oyster, a marine bivalve mollusc in the family Pteriidae. This is the type of oyster which produce Tahitian pearls as their main crop, the shell/mother of pearl is the by-product.
