The three dresses I have for you today are more from that same single owner collection that I recently did two capsules from. Her collection was lovingly sourced over decades and she has decided that it is time let them back out into the world for others to enjoy. The first two drops centered around the 1930s but we have expanded into her collection to add some other decades this time as well. This is one of those that go beyond the 1930s and it is just fabulous. The silk just has to be seen in person to be believed.

As mentioned above the silk on this set is unbelievable. It is that silk from the fifties that is incredibly soft to the touch. And this one has an added bit of specialness to it because all of the floral print that you see on this dress is actually a ultra soft velvet chenille fused directly into the silk. The tactile sensation of touching this dress is fantastic. This is also the type of silk that almost seems like the print is glowing from within. It is really spectacular. The dress has that classic fifties sheath silhouette with an almost box shape that is taken in at the waist for a touch of shape. The neckline is cut wide across and there's an open notch at the top of each shoulder. It skims over the bust and blouses softly over the waist. The waist is seamed for shape and is brought in more with the matching belt that comes with the set. I love the large flat bow of the belt and how the ends of the belt have a raw fringe detail to them. The skirt falls from under that with just a touch the volume through the hips created from the beautiful pleating that is set into the waist. It falls to the floor widening out just slightly as it nears the hem. There is an open slit on each side and these are interesting because they are actually set slightly towards the back. So you get this very straight panel affect down the back. It is gorgeous. The jacket is over the top and fabulous. It has soft shoulders and is cropped to match where the waist sits. The sleeves go to just below the elbows. Each sleeve is wide cut and finished with an elaborate ostrich feather hem dyed to a inky black. There are no closures at the front of the jacket and it is beautifully seamed. The collar has another elaborate finish of feathers. I love that the two pieces allow you to mix and match with other things in your wardrobe and that it is such a different look whether or not you choose to wear the jacket with the dress. It is spectacular. Excellent condition

The dress is lined in a black silky rayon through the bodice and a black netting through the skirt. The jacket is lined in a black silky rayon. The dress closes with a zipper at the back and the belt closes with hook and eye under the bow. The jacket has no closures. I see a tiny repair to the lining of the jacket otherwise it appears to have been worn very little if at all
