Born in Italy, Nina Ricci moved to France as a teenager and became a dressmaker. She spent the early years of her career designing for various fashion houses before setting up her eponymous house in 1932 when she was in her early-50s. She retired from design in the 1959 and handed the reins over to Belgian designer Jules Francois Crahay who created this dress in the early 1960s before leaving for Lanvin in 1964. His bell-skirted suits and small-waisted dresses were described as having "charm," and described as the "youngest, most feminine thing in Paris."

This pretty candy-pink linen dress is tailored to a laid-back day-dress style. It has an open-collar and button down front, secured with a large tonal pink plastic button and hidden hook-and-eye clasps. The sleeves are slightly cropped - perfect for showing off jewellery on the wrist. The skirt is softly pleated and falls to calf length. It is adorned with two large tonal buttons and attached to the top of the dress with hidden hook-and-eye clasps and a hidden zip. The skirt is partially lined with white crepe.

The dress is in really excellent vintage condition with no issues and very fresh looking. The label reads “Nina Ricci Collection Jeunes Femmes” but there is no fabric composition or size label. A best fit for a UK 8-10 or US 4-6 with a very small waist. It will also work on a UK 6-8 or US 2-4.
