The Western world in the twenties had a great fascination with all things art deco and oriental and places like Japan began to export pieces made specifically for the tourist market. These pieces combined classic design elements of the Japanese culture with a slight western twist to the cut and colors. These embroidered jackets where amongst the most prized and this one is a stunning black silk one embroidered with absolutely brilliant colors. Solidly embroidered, the pattern and design are exquisite. Vibrant and beautiful birds flit over enormous colorful flowers. Excellent condition and extremely wearable!

Bust: 18.5" flat across the back from side seam to side seam

Length: 24" from mid back at the neck to bottom of the jacket hem

Fully lined in a bright pink silk, it closes an embroidered off set large button and fabric loop. I suspect that the lining was a later addition but it is well done and of excellent quality so is left as found.

They will be packed exceedingly well and we only sell pieces that will stand up to the stress of shipping, however, having pieces potentially shipped multiple times through multiple customs and countries is too hard on garments that are historically important and deserve to be treated with love and care.
