This blouse allegedly once belonged to a feisty Southern belle named Mavis Beauregard. Legend has it, Mavis wore it when she tried to sell moonshine out of the back of her Cadillac during a Revolutionary War reenactment. She wasn’t reenacting, of course, just capitalizing on the thirst for patriotism and the, well, thirst. When the local PTA caught wind of her operation, she hightailed it to the mountains, leaving only this deadstock beauty behind. It’s rumored her last words before vanishing were, “No taxation without libation!”
