The needlework done on this caftan is fantastic - the colors absolutely pops off of the black jersey background and there is an incredible amount of work on it. The caftan is cut long and lean and has a medium weight to it -  light enough so it does not feel bulky but with enough weight to hold the shape. I love the dramatic panels of hand done needlepoint embroidery work that runs all the way down each side and across the entire front panel in huge breastplate. Each sleeve has the design trailing down it and then circling the cuff. As shape is a simple column that as it nears the hem it widens out a bit. It has a great exotic feeling and really makes a dramatic statement. I love the contrasting design that is little rectangles of color one after another too - really a fabulous touch. Excellent condition
