Fashion designer Christian Lacroix established his own Parisian couture house in 1985 to instant acclaim. This corset style top was part of the spring 1993 ready to wear collection and has decedent metalwork and a print that echoes the fashion house’s instantly recognisable jewellery designs. Tailored to a double-breasted style, it is adorned with six gold-tone metal buttons in organic circular shapes with star detailing. The wide straps are finished with large square gold-tone metal buckles with a textured surface. The fabric is thick cotton the colour of dark chocolate and detailed with decadent baroque-style sketches in gold. The back of the top has a tie in coordinating fabric which is adjustable. The top is lined in dark brown silk.

Lacroix's mainline collections were produced in very limited numbers and made to almost the same level as his haute couture lines. We hold many pieces in our warehouse and continue to acquire archival pieces from important collections. This top is in excellent vintage condition with no flaws of any note. There is no wear to the gold-toned metal and the alloy is not scratched or marked. Please check the below measurements closely to ensure the best fit. We believe this would best fit a size UK 8, US 4 with a small waist. Our model's sizes are: Bust: 33" (84cm), Waist 26" (66cm), Hips: 34" (86cm) and 5' 7" (170cm) and she's a size UK 6-8, US 2-4. This top was a great fit on her.
