To begin, each player chooses a themed golden pawn. He or she then chooses a House card and is assigned to that House. In this edition, Hogwarts locations replace properties and House Points replace Monopoly money. Go around the board and use House Points to explore iconic locations in Hogwarts Castle and Hogsmeade Village. The more a player explores, the more House Points they receive from other players. Gather a colour group to add House Shields and draw Messenger Owl cards to receive game-changing news - the game ends when all locations have been explored and the player with the most House Points is the winner!
