1730s Chintz Floral Cotton

Product Description

This reconstructed chintz design is based on an original 18th-century textile fragment dated between 1730 and 1750. Developed for cotton cretonne, the pattern supports garments requiring flow, length, and visual continuity across larger pattern pieces.

The design is printed lengthwise, making it especially suitable for full garments where vertical movement is essential. Subtle irregularities are intentionally preserved to reflect the character of historical block printed textiles.

Chintz fabrics became highly desirable during the 18th century for their detailed floral patterns and versatility in dressmaking.
