This lively sundress was made in the late 1950s to early 1960s and features some unusual design details. Tailored from soft cotton, it is patterned with vivacious abstract florals in shades of grey-blue, chartreuse and smudgy pink and burgundy. The bustier top is boned at the front, rear and sides, down to the waistband. Thick coordinating straps secure the dress at the shoulders and fall to a low-back at the rear. The skirt is pleated at the sides and envelops a V shaped and panelled bustier to the rear to extend the width while leaving the front flat. The skirt portion is lined with frothy white tulle which adds to the volume and creates more contrast in the silhouette against the nipped-in, boned waist. This dress is secured with a hidden white metal zip at the back.

This vibrant dress is in excellent vintage condition with no flaws of any note. There are no labels present in the dress but this is not a dress maker piece; it has a finish and detailing present in very high end ready to wear from the period.
