Absolutely one of the best Yves Saint Laurent pieces ever! This is an exceptional silk wrap gypsy skirt with the earliest Saint Laurent Rive Gauche Paris label. The original Saint Laurent boutique opened in Paris in 1966 and I believe this to be from about 1970 based on the style and the label. It is a spectacular skirt made of a fluid red silk. The cut is amazing - it drapes longer in the back and has a wonderful ruffled edge that cascades down the front. Two patterns are woven into the silk so you get a nice contrast between the body of the skirt and the ruffle! And it has its original matching fabric tie sash too!
