Antique handkerchief from the Biedermeier period. Beautifully embroidered in the four corners with an image of a woman wearing a dress with club sleeves. She is sitting on a bench and carrying an umbrella with fringes in one hand. Embroidered border with small stylized waves and hearts. Lace decorates the handkerchief. In good condition. Discreet stains. Handkerchiefs of this type were made by noblemen in many hours of manual labor - either for themselves or as a gift (then often to a gentleman).
