This 1972 dress is the black version of the one peeking above Halston's shoulder in the picture included in this listing. These long silk knit shirt dresses were a Halston staple and were designed for that chic modern woman to wear while entertaining at home or in an intimate setting. The wearer was able to move and be superbly comfortable, never worrying about getting wrinkled or being inappropriate or uncomfortable. Because of their body hugging fabric and buttons set close to the edge of the seam they are insanely sexy and suggest that with a few quick movements the wearer could be standing au natural, with her dress puddled on the floor! These was his signature piece and every chic woman had to have one.
