This early 1990s Christian Dior navy and white polka-dot three piece suit is comprised of a skirt, jacket and sleeveless top. The ensemble would have been designed by Gianfranco Ferre during his eight year tenure as Creative Director of the House. The jacket is pristinely tailored from a smooth navy wool and lined with a playful white-on-navy polka-dot silk. It has a single-breasted cut which fastens with five oval gold-tone buttons engraved with the “CD” logo. The silhouette is elegant, showcasing a slight nipped-in waist and elongated length with three flap pockets to the front. The sleeves are split and trimmed internally with ribbed white ribbed cotton, as are the inside of the lapels. The skirt is cut to a knee-length pencil silhouette. It is lined in coordinating polka-dot silk and fastens at the back with a hook-and-eye clasp and hidden tonal zip. The inside of the waistband is lined in ribbed white cotton. The final piece in this ensemble is a sleeveless blouse in navy and white polka-dot silk - to match the lining of the jacket and skirt. The top has a relaxed, straight shape and fastens at the back of the neck with a hidden tonal zip and hook-and-eye clasp. The label reads “Christian Dior Boutique Paris” and is numbered. We have attached an advertising campaign for Christian Dior makeup from Autumn-Winter 1994, featuring the exact same design as an earring.

This ensemble is in very good to excellent vintage condition. We noted on the jacket some light markings to the white ribbed cotton which lines the inside of the jacket placket; however, these would never be seen with the jacket fully done up. If the jacket was left open, I'm not sure anyone would notice as they are very faint - we only spotted them with the jacket in hand. There is also some 'pitting' on the second button from the bottom due to age related wear to the goldtone metal which is minor in nature. Labelled a vintage French 38 but runs a bit smaller so please check our below measurements carefully. It is 100% Wool and the lining is 100% Silk. The fabric has no stretch. We believe this would best fit a UK 8, US 4 with some flexibility. Our model's sizes are: Bust: 33" (84cm), Waist 26" (66cm), Hips: 34" (86cm) and 5' 7" (170cm) and she's a size UK 6-8, US 2-4. This suit was slightly roomy on her.
