Renowned American occasion wear designer Victor Costa created this mini dress for Saks Fifth Avenue in the late 1980s or early 1990s. Cut from sapphire-blue mesh, it is tailored to a strapless mini-dress shape with a sweetheart neckline and a boned corset which is a separate piece but fitted inside the dress. The designer's skill and attention-to-detail can be seen in the intricate ribbon-work embellishment which covers the whole of the gown. Forming rose-like forms, the spirals of ribbon are finished with iridescent white and sapphire-blue sequins. The dress fastens at the back with a hidden tonal zip and hook-and-eye clasp. It is lined in blue satin throughout.

This piece is in excellent vintage condition with no flaws of any note. The fabric is 30% Cotton, 30% Acetate, 20% Nylon. It does not have a size label so please check the measurements below as the fabric has no stretch. We estimate a good fit for sizes up to a UK 8 or US 4.
