Santa Catarina Palopo Woman's Huipil --- 

Geomorphic designs in this brocaded huipil that was woven on a back-strap loom. The huipil has 3 panels and the base color is a light blue that contrasts well with blues, purples and other colors of the brocade.  

Condition: 

Moderately good used condition with some wear, light fading and a few light spots. Major concern is one hole in the bottom are the base material. A dime shows the size and location.  The huipil shows light wear and a few loose threads. Sides seams closed (could be easily opened).  The panels are fringed. As with many Santa Catarina Palopo huipils, there is some uneveness to the length of the panels.  It could be hemmed to a even length, if desired.
