Daniele Basta paints directly onto finished leather in his Empoli workshop using 24-karat gold and 999 silver. There is no screen, no stencil, no second attempt. The Klimt edition of the Eden Piccola carries bold gestural strokes across its black leather face -- gold and silver and white colliding in a pattern that owes as much to Renaissance metalwork as to the Viennese Secession. Each bag receives its own composition. The brushwork on yours will not match any other.

Beneath the painted surface, the bag is pure Daniele Basta: a compact baguette silhouette in vegetable-tanned leather, hand-finished with natural waxes and lined in linen. A leather strap sits flat against the body, and a top zip keeps the interior secure. The construction is deliberately understated so the painted surface can carry the full visual weight. Hold the bag in direct light and the gold catches fire against the matte black ground. In shadow, it recedes to a whisper of metallic warmth.
