Our latest Serrahna orignal design is the 'Go Figa!' necklace with its mesmerizing mother of pearl beads and a fabulous figa charm. This necklace is uber lightweight but heavy on ancient gris-gris. The mother of pearl beads hail from New Zealand and are highly polished and labor intensive to make. They have a high shine black wood center that makes the mother of pearl glow. There's a fun off-set black and gold pumpkin bead that leads you toward the pièce de résistance high shine figa charm with its thumb nestled between the pointer and middle finger. Notice the golden finger nails!
The powerful mano figa symbol has been used throughout the centuries to ward off evil and bring good luck. It originally dates back to the Etruscans in the 6th century BCE. The figa fist is referred to as the "mano fico" in present day Italy, but originally emerged as a symbol of the fig fruit and was associated with fertility and female genitalia in the Greco-Roman culture-- Go Figa! Necklace measures 24" with adjustable closure for a tighter or looser fit. Figa charm measures 1.5".
