Ruffles and circle skirts wax and wane in fashion cycles, but the combination is always romantic and feminine! This pattern, by Forever 18 Inches, combines each of these features with the additional twists of a high-low hemline and faux wrap-front option. The sewing level ranges from easy to intermediate depending on which of the four variations are chosen: Easy for the two options without the ruffled hem, and intermediate for the other two with featured ruffles. The variations allow for many different looks ranging from casual to dressy, and the elasticized waistband ensures a universal fit for dolls with varying waist measurements.

This PDF sewing pattern is designed to fit 18" dolls such as American Girl® and will also fit Journey Girls® .

Recommended Fabrics:  Light-to-medium-weight woven fabrics with a tight weave are recommended for this pattern. A light-weight quilter's cotton with a soft drape is ideal for Options 1-3. Avoid stiff, coarse fabrics. For option 4, fabric with a shiny or silky texture is recommended for the Lining. Soft lace, mesh, or other sheer fabrics that don't ravel are recommended for the Overlay.. 

Supplies Needed:
- Option 1: 2/3 yd. of 45" fabric
- Option 2: 7/8 yd. of 45" fabric
- Option 3: 7/8 yd. of 45: fabric
- Option 4: ½ yd. of Lining and ½ yd. Overlay fabric

All Options:
1. Matching thread
2. 3/8" elastic cut to your specific doll's waist size (approximately 10" for Journey Girls and 10.5" for American Girl dolls).
3. One pair of small, very sharp scissors to trim seam allowances.
4. Fray Check® for fabrics with a tendency to ravel
5. A small sturdy safety pin (approximately 3/8” x 7/8” or smaller)
