The “SCARLETT" stretch tutu pattern by Tutu Amor is a 10-piece bodice with a faux basque. It includes two styles of nude insert so that you can change the neckline to suit your design. Bodice 1 has a delicate sweetheart neckline, Bodice 2 has a deeper V. 

What makes the SCARLETT pattern special is the 3-piece scoop back with raised peaks for strap attachment, which allows for the addition of an inset sleeve. "You can create your very own style with a a long or short mesh sleeve which attaches to your straps, a semi-detached sleeve which attaches to the bodice arm holes, or standard arm puffs" (Robin, pattern creator).

In this workshop, participants will be taught the Tutu Amor SCARLETT bodice pattern with their choice of nude insert and sleeve/arm puff and the Sugar Plum Performance Tutus formula for a hand-tacked 11-layer pancake tutu skirt with pleated top and bottom layers, and hoop. All materials for hand tacking and hooping your tutu will be supplied.

Basic sewing skills are recommended for this workshop. Previous tutu making experience would be beneficial, but plenty of support will be provided for sewists with less experience.

Participants will receive the SCARLETT pattern in 28 sizes ($80 RRP) and detailed instructions from our friend Robin at Tutu Amor. Melissa will simplify the detailed instructions (87 pages) and demonstrate each step for visual learners. Participants may film these demonstrations for their own reference.

Workshops are delivered in a small group format (max 6) by Melissa from Sugar Plum Performance Tutus. Melissa has many years' experience sewing, costuming, tutu making and teaching sewing classes. She is passionate about classical ballet costumes!

Full workshop fee for 4 days is $1,160. Pay $200 to book, and the balance 7 days prior.
