This three‑piece walking dress from the Titanic era, dating to ca. 1912, comes with exceptional provenance from the Valentine Museum, America. The ensemble consists of a jacket, skirt, and lace blouse insert, forming a refined example of early 1910s daywear.

The jacket and skirt are made of deep black velvet, a luxurious fabric widely favored in the years just before World War I. The jacket is richly trimmed with fur—on the collar, the cuffs, and framing a striking medallion at the front. Around this medallion are elaborate soutache appliqués, complemented by four hanging tassels that add movement and texture. The skirt is narrow and tight‑fitting, perfectly reflecting the fashionable silhouette of the period, when slim, column‑like skirts replaced the fuller Edwardian shapes.

The blouse insert is crafted from lace and decorated with six black buttons, providing a delicate contrast to the richness of the velvet. The ensemble is in very good condition, showing only subtle signs of wear consistent with age. The black pearl necklace shown in photos is not included.
