It is made of two layers of rich silk taffeta topped by a wide band of black velvet. The velvet at the top acts to make the waist virtually disappear and the illusion of a nipped in waist as contrasted by the volume o the skirt is superb. A signature gold cording accents the point where the velvet meets the silk and the bottom edging of the hem is also ringed with gold cord. The stying possibilities are endless with this piece!
