Description :

Red and black handwoven sambalpuri cotton ikat saree from the weavers of Sambalpur, Odisha. The pattern for this saree evolves through a process of dyeing the warp and weft threads prior to inter-weaving. This technique of ikat weaving on a traditional handloom is a beautiful art of poetry on the loom. This saree is woven with ikat small flower motifs which are designed at the middle part of the saree and paddy plant motifs woven as stripes near the borders. Ikat red and white checks pattern is woven on the border of the saree. The flower and wavy design on the pallu add to the beauty of this handloom saree. The saree comes with blouse piece that same as pallu design.
